What is PETPROOF?
Toptextil fabrics labeled with the PETPROOF mark show increased resistance to s thread pulling from animal claws.
PETPROOF fabrics have a fine weave and smooth surface, so that the coat does not stick to the material and is easy to remove with a clothing roll or a damp cloth.

How do we perform tests?
PETPROOF fabrics are certified in accordance with PN-79/P-04664 standard issued by the Textile Research Institute. How does the scratch resistance test look like and does the institute employ dogs and cats for this purpose? Of course not, but the animal testing process would certainly be very interesting.
But let’s get back to business. Scratch resistance testing consists in placing the tested fabric on a roller and subjecting it to the action of metal spheres with spikes. The spheres, by bouncing off a rotating roller, imitate the action of animal claws. The test result is given on a 5-point scale, where:
– 1 means numerous snags
– 5 means no snags
– 3 or more means sufficient resistance for pets

Fabrics marked with Cleanaboo and PETPROOF are a perfect combination. Not only are they not afraid of claws and hair, but they also limit the absorption of liquids, so that upholstered furniture will retain its fresh look for a long time.
Practical tips and good manners
Solutions such as PETPROOF or Cleanaboo make it easier to keep fabrics in good condition, but do not provide resistance to extreme cases of dirt and scratches. No fabric is indestructible. However, by applying the principles of proper furniture care, you will certainly extend its life. Remember not to scrub upholstery furniture; we recommend cleaning with the grain and without strong detergents. A clothing roll or a damp cloth is perfect for removing animal hair from fabrics. It is also worth taking care of good manners of your pets:
– Teach your pets good behavior: Invest in special pet beds and a cat scratcher and teach them how to use these places by rewarding good behavior with treats. Never let them scratch furniture!
– Keep your pets hygienic by combing them regularly and cutting off their claws; this will reduce the amount of fur in the whole house and reduce scratches, not only on furniture
